Cutting thick metal
Each of us has moments when we don’t have the right part on hand, and we simply can’t find it in stores. Previously, you would have had to order casting or organize this process yourself, but now new opportunities have appeared.
Cutting thick metal can be done quickly and very accurately if you use CNC machines. If we want to give preference to grinders and gas cutters, we incur additional costs for discs or gas, we take risks and lose accuracy, and this is perhaps the strongest factor for which all the work is started.
Our company has been providing its services in the Odessa market for more than 10 years. We are engaged in cutting metal with plasma, which, due to its temperatures, can cope with sheet iron with a thickness of 20 and even 25 mm.
If you need to work with material of the specified thicknesses, then resort to a similar service, but you should not use a laser machine. This machine provides quality work only with thin sheets, gives more advantages on small elements, because the laser beam is 2 times thinner than a plasma beam, but for all the delights you will have to pay more than for cutting thick metal with our CNC machine.
What is a plasma cutter and what are the advantages of this installation?
Many of us know that there are 3 states of matter: solid, liquid, gas. Not many people know that after the gaseous state you can get type 4 - plasma. By increasing the temperature a little and adding electricity, the same beam is formed that copes with cutting various metals.
Regarding the benefits, here is a short list of the main qualities:
- Cutting metal with plasma takes little time;
- Using thick iron, there will be small traces of slag on the edges of the cuts, which is easily knocked off;
- In places where cuts are made, the edges are not melted, which means that the necessary parts are not subject to further processing and thus we save our time.
- The machine is connected to a computer and is capable of reproducing drawings of any complexity.
- The installation works with both ferrous and non-ferrous sheet metal.
- This technology is worth ordering, because it has practically no disadvantages. Of the minuses, it is worth mentioning that the machine is computerized, which means it accepts drawings created in the AutoCAD, KOMPAS 3D or 3Ds MAX program.
This software needs to be mastered, but if you don’t want to, look for layouts on the Internet or create sketches, add dimensions and send them to us! You can also simply order a service from our craftsmen to create a drawing, then cut it, and after a while come for the finished element.
Call us and we will provide you with the necessary advice!
